The role of Draftsperson is a key component of the AssetFuture team, based in the Brisbane CBD. Flexible working is possible. The role can also be executed from a NSW location. 12 - 18 month contract duration.

You will be part of our multidisciplinary project team and work closely with our clients on projects in the areas of public and private assets, eg education, health care or aged care living.  

What you will be doing:

  • Complete accurate, high-quality building floor plans - update existing building floor plans and develop new floor plans

  • Follow the approved floor plan guidelines and specifications to meet project scope of works

  • Ensure that final VISIO plans are compliant with the project scope of works and specifications

  • Prepare rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems or in VISIO formatted outputs

  • Communicate with project team members and the onsite field assessment teams

  • Identify and communicate potential gaps in information to the rest of the project team

  • Identify areas for process improvements

  • Stay up to date with any new drafting software and advancements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2 – 3 years experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) - essential

  • Experience in VISIO application – essential

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Drafting, Engineering or Architecture – preferred

  • Tertiary qualification e.g. from a technical college or equivalent - relevant

  • Advanced numerical and analytical skills

  • Proficient skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel at Intermediate level

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to interpret manual drawings – ideal

  • Current knowledge of new drafting software and advancements in the industry

  • Ability to work well in a team as well as autonomously

  • Ability to respond to constructive feedback and maintain a positive attitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to contribute and work well within a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach

Other essential requirements:

  • Fully vaccinated in COVID-19

  • Blue-Card certification

  • Current Police Check

  • Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
