Retirement Living Providers care for residents in community settings, offering a range of facilities as well as communal spaces for activities. The aging population has created demand for quality accomodation for senior living, and Retirement Living Providers are creating spaces and amenities to meet demand.
Alongside this demand for facilities, residents now require greater transparency from Providers on maintenance. Additionally, Retirement Living Providers need a long term view on future funding requirements to maintain facilities to acceptable standards, especially when independent living units are being prepared for sale or rental.
Standards in different sectors can be variable, and in NSW, there have been changes to NSW Government policy to address this, through creating Asset Management Plans, which define the implementation activities to achieve Asset Management objectives.
