Leading Through 2025: Reflections from Our CEO

2025 has been a defining year for AssetFuture, marked by steady progress and meaningful outcomes across the sectors we support. We introduced significant platform upgrades, expanded capabilities for low-data environments, and continued working with leaders across education, government, and retirement living to shape a more coordinated approach to asset investment.

I’m proud of the work our team has delivered and grateful for the growing trust our clients and partners across Australia and New Zealand have placed in us. As we look back, our mission remains unchanged: to empower organisations to make confident, data-driven decisions about their assets.

Leading conversations that shaped 2025

Turning technical data into decisions

At AMPEAK 2025, we partnered with TAFE NSW to explore a challenge facing many organisations: translating technical insights into decisions that boards and executives can act on. Our fireside chat sparked meaningful conversations and reinforced that asset strategy needs a narrative as strong as its data.

Uniting education leaders and planning at sector scale

We hosted the first “Future of Asset Management in Education Forum” in April. The event brought together leaders from universities, TAFEs and schools to confront sector-wide pressures – more than $265B in assets and over $40B in deferred liabilities. The conversation focused on capability uplift, stronger forecasting and aligning data with long-term service outcomes. It was encouraging to see sector leaders engage deeply with these insights and begin shaping clearer, long-term paths forward.

Building community trust with clear data

At IPWC25, our fireside chat with Hornsby Shire Council (HSC) showcased how community expectations, high-quality data and committed leadership can strengthen transparency and trust. HSC’s approach demonstrated how clear asset information guides both strategic direction and day-to-day delivery across a diverse portfolio.

Customer results that demonstrate real change

One of the highlights of 2025 was our work with Illawarra Retirement Trust (IRT), which showcased the tangible value of predictive asset intelligence

  • 30% reduction in reactive work orders

  • 5% reduction in follow-up work orders

  • Clearer alignment between asset strategies and organisational priorities

Supporting operators navigate reform

2025 was a turning point for retirement living, with major reforms in Victoria and Western Australia redefining asset management obligations. AssetFuture supported operators with targeted guidance to help lift capability and plan with confidence.

Strong engagement with our content confirmed the sector’s appetite for clarity. Our focus remains: supporting operators to turn compliance into a foundation for long-term excellence.

Growing capability and our ecosystem

We formalised new partnerships with technology and advisory firms to connect asset intelligence, digital twins and data engineering into more complete lifecycle solutions. We also strengthened our internal engineering capability and adopted AI-enabled workflows to support modelling and delivery.

Planning tools for low-data environments

We’ve been excited to deploy AssetFuture’s Simulate solution, perfect for data-poor organisations seeking directional planning insights without complete asset datasets. It creates a synthetic view of an asset portfolio from minimal inputs, giving teams early clarity on condition and cost so they can optimise capital renewal planning and prioritise preventative maintenance.

New Platform launch – built for faster, clearer decision-making

This year, we rolled out Version 3, a major upgrade of the AssetFuture Platform. We’ve redeveloped the Platform to improve lifecycle degradation modelling and scenario planning, introduced a new UI, and refined key methodologies. It’s faster, smarter, and built from the ground up with customer feedback in mind. Migration is underway and will continue into early 2026.

Building sector leadership

Throughout 2025, our team continued to contribute to the industry through our "Viewpoints" series, sharing insights on compliance, capability building, data quality, and asset lifecycle forecasting. Our consistent publishing rhythm reflects our ambition to advancing the asset management sector and supporting our clients beyond the platform alone.

Looking ahead

As we move into 2026, I am energised by the opportunities ahead. We will continue to:

  • Expand our partnerships and industry presence

  • Deliver new platform capabilities that shape the future of asset intelligence

  • Support clients through regulatory, operational, and economic challenges

  • Strengthen our team and our commitment to excellence

In early 2026, AssetFuture will unveil a brand-new product, closing the loop for our clients with a fully integrated, end-to-end asset management solution. We can’t wait to show you this incredible new addition to the AssetFuture suite of products.

AssetFuture is entering the next chapter with clarity and confidence. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, partners and outstanding team for their dedication and belief in our vision.
